Hi there! You've found my digital garden! 🌻

My name is Paula/Z (she/her, they/them), and I am a researcher and editor based in Baguio City, Philippines. If you're looking for my bionote and CV, they're here.

This is a place for my living thoughts, things I'm learning, rabbit holes I fall into, etc. Not quite a blog in the usual sense, here you will find initial thoughts, growing ideas, notes on stuff I am reading, maybe some essays here and there, all in the spirit of learning in public.

Like most digital gardeners, I write here mostly for my future self. While the garden is curated to a certain point, it's not always organized (and that's the beauty of it!).

Lately, as opposed to Now

I am officially published! Thrilled (and to be honest, relieved) that my article "β€˜Tighten the knot of our blanket slings’: The Endurance of Babywearing Practice and the Visual Politics of Childhood in the Cordillera Region of North Luzon, Philippines" has been published in Childhood in the Past, an international journal managed by the Society of the Study of Childhood in the Past (SSCIP) and hosted by Taylor and Francis. Hit me up for free e-prints!

I had the honor of presenting a paper on Baguio Climate as Heritage at ADI Conference 2024: Remaking Futures: Justice, Equality and Global Flourishing on 25-26 November 2024 at the Deakin University Burwood Corporate Center, Melbourne VIC, Australia through funding from the University of the Philippines Baguio Research Dissemination Grant (RDG) and UP System RDG. It was such a fun and lovely experience meeting the folks at ADI, and learning about their research and initiatives for a more equitable future for all. Conference report here and video of paper presentation here.

Welcome to the PhD Meta, aka My First Public(ish) Zotero Library!

❓You might be asking how you should use this site
❓Some more questions, perhaps?
